<p>Groundviews is Sri Lanka’s first and international award-winning citizens journalism website uses a range of genres and media to highlight alternative perspectives on governance, human rights, the arts and literature, peace building and other issues. The site has won two international awards for the quality of its journalism, including the prestigious<br />
Manthan Award South Asia in 2009.</p>

To demonstrate, by example, that citizen journalism can enable civil,  progressive and inclusive discussions on democracy, rights, governance  and peace in Sri Lanka.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Trail is a 670km walk to symbolize the courage and unity of our island nation Sri Lanka, a trek from the Southern point of Dondra to the Northern tip of the island, Point Pedro. Trail carries with it a message of hope raising a sum of two million dollars (Rs 220,000,000) to build a paediatric cancer ward at the Jaffna General Hospital in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka.</p>
